The project at the Geospatial Centroid that taught me the most and challenged me the greatest, the Agroforestry Detection project seeks to count the number of trees in non-forested areas in Nebraska for the USDA carbon sink estimates. Led by Dan Carver and Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Stephen Ogle we utilized sampling methodologies built with Google Earth Engine and spatial analysis tools in ArcGIS Pro. I was extremely lucky to be given the opportunity to also develop my own unique error classification method that is now being used extensively as the project continues development. Combining my arts and science skill set, we discovered the most accurate and fastest error classification could be done with pixel counts in Photoshop. Project ongoing.
